Healthcare Construction Management Requires Additional Interfaces
Healthcare facility construction management uses the same four controls, but patient care, clinical operations, infection prevention, utilities and regulatory jurisdiction can add dependencies that must be defined by the facility and responsible professionals. The contractor coordinates the construction response; it does not set clinical policy or replace infection-prevention, design or regulatory authority.
CDC guidance recommends a multidisciplinary team that includes infection-control staff for healthcare demolition, construction and renovation and calls for an infection-control risk assessment before dust- or aerosol-generating work.
